The Square Tower or Lusignan Tower:

Located just 200m from the hotel, the Peyrat-le-Château Tower is a remarkable vestige of the region's history. The foundations of the tower were erected during the Gallo-Roman era, and the current access roads to the town date back to this period as well.

Major excavations were carried out in 1895, revealing walls and underground passages under the Merovingian Motte and the pond, as well as three coins bearing the image of Julius Caesar. In the Middle Ages, between 1100 and 1300, the village, then called Peyrat-le-Fort, was sheltered by the castle and was the scene of many conflicts, including Richard the Lionheart, the Hundred Years' War, and fires that reduced the castle to ruins.

The Tower of Peyrat-le-Château is one of the five gates of the medieval city and was used to protect the village from invaders. Today, the tower is a must-see place for history lovers and curious people who want to discover the architectural heritage of the region.
